While food crops are important to keep people fed and healthy, the non-food plants that inhabit our surroundings are important to provide ground cover, provide shade and windbreaks, provide oxygenation and cleaner air, and create a pleasing, healthy environment for our work, play, and daily lives. As a student in the environmental horticulture degree program, you will choose from one of three tracks that will get you ready for a rewarding career in creating beautiful landscapes, managing sports facility turf, operating a nursery or greenhouse, or any of hundreds of other careers in horticulture.
Whether your interests bring you to exploring golf course design and management or to using your creative talents to create gorgeously sculpted landscapes for homes and businesses, you will find a home within the environmental horticulture program.
