Message From The Dean

Welcome to the School of Nursing and Health Sciences at ABAC!  Whether you are a prospective student, a current student, or an alumnus of ABAC, take a moment to explore our website to learn about our outstanding nursing programs.

The School of Nursing and Health Sciences, located in both Tifton and ABAC Bainbridge, offers both a traditional two-year Associate in Science of Nursing (ASN) Degree and a one-year Bridge Program for students who have health sciences backgrounds such as a licensed practical nurse, paramedic, or respiratory therapist. In addition, an RN-BSN Program is available for Registered Nurses to complete their baccalaureate degrees. ABAC Nursing boasts highly qualified and dedicated faculty members who impart knowledge and skills necessary for the nursing profession while instilling values of life-long learning.

The Nursing Program, established in 1966, has a longstanding history of excellence in nursing as evidenced by our exceptional NCLEX-RN licensure pass rates, high employer satisfaction, and superior job placement rates. The success, achievements, and overall strength of the nursing programs are due to the dedication of our faculty and staff, determination of our students, and dynamic support from our clinical affiliations.

We have partnered with the best hospitals and community agencies in the state of Georgia to offer hands-on, real-life clinical experiences. Students develop and refine their clinical judgment and nursing skills at Tift Regional Medical Center, Colquitt Regional Medical Center, South Georgia Medical Center, John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital, Donalsonville Hospital, Memorial Hospital, and Manor, Miller County Hospital, Florida State Hospital, and many other excellent healthcare sites.

If you have been looking for a school where you can receive superior quality instruction with individual attention, supported by a rich clinical learning environment, I invite you to become a part of our ABAC family at the Tifton or Bainbridge locations and begin your professional nursing career!

Teaching at ABAC continues to be rewarding as I educate and mentor students in the ASN and BSN programs. It is deeply fulfilling to engage with ASN students and watch them transform into professionally competent graduate nurses. Creating an engaging and interactive learning environment in the online BSN program is also satisfying. I remain committed to serving ABAC and the SONHS, supporting students in reaching their full potential.

I have practiced as a registered nurse for over 19 years, with my specialty areas being critical care, hospice, and pediatrics. I have been in higher education for one year at ABAC, where I am leading the Nursing at Night program on the Bainbridge campus with the assistance of our dedicated faculty and staff. My diverse background in nursing has equipped me with the skills and knowledge to effectively train the next generation of nurses, ensuring they are well-prepared to provide quality care to patients in a variety of healthcare settings. I am committed to fostering a supportive learning environment that encourages growth and development in both my students and myself. My goal is to inspire future nurses to be compassionate, competent, and confident professionals who make a positive impact in healthcare and in the lives of their patients. I am excited to continue my journey as an educator and contribute to the success of our ABAC nursing program.

I am excited to share my experience and knowledge of the healthcare field with the students of ABAC.  With over twenty years of experience in the field of nursing, I have gained experience in a variety of areas, from school health, medical-surgical/oncology to women’s health and midwifery.  I am a two-time graduate of the University of Florida College of Nursing. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work with students in a variety of settings.  I have precepted undergraduate and graduate level nursing students, facilitated clinical rotations for undergraduate students, and trained medical residents in private practice gynecology.   I look forward to working with the next generation of nurses and hope to inspire them to be compassionate, caring, and competent nurses.
