The Department of English and Communication offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Writing and Communication. Students will develop as critical thinkers and gain skills in both written and oral communication through encouragement to explore ideas thoroughly and critically from all vantage points and a wide-ranging liberal arts education. 

Developing strong communication skills is at the core of the English and Communication department. By learning practiced techniques in verbal, visual, and written communication that reflect a diverse job market, students hone their academic, creative, and professional communication skills. Access to internship opportunities connect our students’ academic coursework with real-life job experience. After graduation, Writing and Communication majors enter various types of professions in fields like broadcasting, human resources, print-journalism, creative disciplines, social media and communication management, teaching, or non-profit work. Students also graduate well-prepared to enter graduate school for degrees in law, education, communication, English, or digital media.
